Our Ideology

We recognize the powerful impact of practitioners’ K-16+ experience on their instructional practice. Our innovative and proven model begins by honoring teachers with the opportunity to experience responsive math teaching, as a learner, before being asked to implement new practices in their classroom.

Our Approach

We embrace three critical actions required to support sustainable shifts in instruction:

  1. Regular opportunities for practitioners to strengthen their content knowledge and expand their repertoire of responsive instructional practices and pedagogies

  2. Targeted alignment of classroom, school, and district priorities

  3. Wrap-around support inclusive of parent partnership and fluency support

We combine proven techniques with a customizable rollout plan to ensure uptake.

PHASE 1:

Initial Assessment/Snapshot

We begin every partnership with an initial assessment, or Snapshot, detailing the state of math teaching in the partnering school/district. The Snapshot provides baseline data around teacher beliefs, teacher content knowledge and instructional practice, alignment of district priorities, and wrap-around support.

PHASE 2:

Build Solution Plan

Upon completing the initial assessment, we work with identified school and district leaders to create a customized solution plan.

PHASE 3:

Activate Rollout Strategy

We support the identified leadership team in rolling out the customized plan, carefully considering how the plan is communicated to the school’s constituents. Throughout the rollout, we provide ongoing training and support to school faculty and district staff directly engaged in the work.
